After college, Jennifer Huckabee enters a secret relationship with the man her brother once trusted to look after her. Working for him by day and adapting herself to his wishes in private leaves her increasingly dependent on his attention. His former fiancée’s return exposes the difference between his treatment of the two women. Jennifer chooses to accept another marriage proposal rather than keep pleading for a place he refuses to respect.
