At the Moonwise Festival, Archon Elliott demands that the heir to House Leon kneel for his betrothal flower. Her refusal brings further threats from him and Corliss Schneider, who wants a public place beside him. A dagger recalls the violence inflicted on her brother, while Corliss demands an act of self-injury at the wedding. Elliott’s approval exposes his loyalties, but she refuses to respond with the submission they expect.
