Alice Jade Martinez sees the strings connecting people and reads changing emotions in their colours. As a matchmaker, she guides others toward fated partners, but her own gift carries a curse: anyone she loves will die. A past loss makes her swear never to love again. The story pairs that restriction with a boy unable to feel, placing an unusual barrier before any connection between them.
